I am currently studying for my final A-level exams in June and chose to do work experience in the holidays to get an early insight into the industry that I am hoping to be employed by in the future. I chose Tunafish Media as it is a young, energetic company who are winning awards and taking on exciting projects.
In my week spent with Tunafish I have carried out a range of jobs and activities, including creating graphics for clients and the Tunafish brand, assisting on a shoot, writing blogs and social content, undertaking social management software training and Facebook advert training. All of these tasks have given me a taste for the industry that I am hoping to go into.
The week also provided me with a chance to gain and develop many skills, these include:
- Photoshop and design work – creating graphics from original concept ideas.
- Organisation – I have improved this through being involved with multiple projects at once.
- Task management – having to complete multiple tasks at once and sticking to deadlines.
- Timekeeping – ensuring I manage my day effectively to ensure I can complete all of my work in the allocated time.
I learnt many things during my week at Tunafish. The thing that stands out the most, is that I have learnt to have patience and be able to take constructive feedback, in order to create final pieces of content that the client is happy with.
After I finish my A levels in June, I am hoping to be offered a place at university to study a Marketing degree. I am then wishing to be employed in the digital marketing industry. My experience gained from this week has helped me to understand the industry and digital marketing more, whilst providing me with skills I can use further on in my life.
